A complete kraft paper manufacturing process can be divided into following sections:
Raw material processing → Chemical/mechanical pulping → Pulp screening and rinsing → Stock preparation system → Paper machine forming → Pressing and dehydration → Drying system → Surface treatment (sizing/calendering) → Winding → Slitting and rewinding → Finished product packaging.
- Pulping process: the raw materials are usually unbleached wood pulp or recycled pulp, which converts wood chips/waste paper into pulp that meets the process requirements to ensure fiber strength and purity. The pulp after cooking is washed to remove residual chemicals and sent to the pulping machine for mechanical treatment. CNBM highlights: The self-developed high-efficiency pulping system can process high-impurity waste paper, improve pulp cleanliness by 20%, and effectively reduce papermaking breakage rate.
- Paper process: In the papermaking process, a cylinder paper machine or a fourdrinier paper machine is used to spread the diluted pulp evenly on the screen to form wet paper sheets. After the wet paper sheets are initially dehydrated by vacuum suction, they enter the pressing section and are pressed out with heavy rollers to remove excess water. Steam drying cylinders are often used in the drying process, and the moisture content of the paper after drying must be stabilized at 5-8%. The calender uses chilled cast iron rollers to polish the surface of the paper. The tension must be kept constant when winding.
